Does the word moist bother you?
Well, it apparently bothers a fifth of the world’s population and there’s a study to back it up.
According to Paul H. Thibodeau, from Leiden University in the Netherlands, the word moist bothers people because of what people associate with the word and not necessarily the word itself.
People associate the word with bodily functions which honestly isn't surprising.
The word has been the topic of discussion in sitcoms like How I Met Your Mother and Dead Like Me and there’s even a Facebook group with 20,000 members dedicated to the hatred of “moist.”
