Federal Employees Can Defer Utility Payments in Seattle

It's no doubt that federal employees are really suffering right now as we enter into over 30 days of the government being shut down.

According to MYNorthwest there are 54,000 federal employees living in Seattle while 11,000 are working without pay.

Since the government is shutdown and a lot of families are living day to day not knowing how to pay for certain necessities, Mayor Durken has issued a statement that federal employees can qualify to have their utility payments deferred until the government reopens and they are able to make their payments.

As of January 25th, federal employees can contact their utility companies to find out if they qualify.
